Gambling GEOs 2026: where to run traffic after Brazil and India
In 2026, two of the largest Tier-2 and Tier-3 gambling GEOs dropped out of the game. India shut down its real-money online gaming market in May, and Brazil halted betting and online casinos at the end of September. Budgets are moving to neighboring countries: from Brazil to the rest of Latin America, from India to Bangladesh, Pakistan and Southeast Asia.
Below are short overviews of Latin American and Asian GEOs: what is happening in each market, how players pay, and what to keep in mind when running traffic.
GEOs at a glance
Latin America
Mexico. The largest GEO in the region after Brazil and the top candidate for relocated budgets. Around 60% of online bets go through brands without a local permit, so demand for offshore products is high. Since January, the gambling tax has risen to 50%, so payouts vary a lot between brands. The key payment method is OXXO: without it, you lose players who don’t have bank cards.
Peru. The fastest-growing market in the region: according to Blask, demand in Q1 grew 36% year over year. Large local brands dominate, with Apuesta Total taking more than half of all demand. Here, the choice of brand affects results more than in neighboring GEOs. Yape support is a must.
Colombia. A mature market where leader BetPlay holds about 58%. Constant tax changes have made local operators cut marketing, while offshore brands are growing: according to Blask, Stake grew almost 979% in the region. The audience responds well to bonuses and cashback in creatives.
Argentina. Lots of football and high demand for betting, but the market differs from province to province. The main trend this fall is pressure on advertising: Congress is discussing restrictions on online and influencer ads. Due to inflation, players actively pay in USDT.
Chile. A small but high-spending GEO: the online betting market exceeds $650M a year, and almost all of it goes to foreign brands. In September, a court ordered 37 more betting domains blocked, so keep spare domains ready.
Asia
Philippines. One of the largest iGaming GEOs in Southeast Asia, with about 40% of the market held by unofficial brands. In 2026, advertising was restricted and the GCash and Maya e-wallets removed direct links to operators, so the path to deposit got longer. Tagalog in creatives noticeably boosts CTR, and basketball is the main sports hook.
Bangladesh. The main heir to Indian traffic, but the market is shrinking. According to Blask, in H1 the flow of new depositors at the top 10 brands halved, while the value of a single player grew 51%. Market leaders: MCW, Baji, Jaya9, BABU88, Crickex. FTDs are now scarce, so it’s a good time to negotiate rates and RevShare. Check bKash and Nagad before every launch.
Pakistan. A huge cricket audience and high demand for betting and crash games. This fall, authorities targeted payment infrastructure, so apps and domains live shorter. Activity peaks during PSL and national team matches.
Indonesia. A large audience with steady demand for slots, but the most massive blocking in the region: about 3.7M sites and pieces of content over two years. Constant rotation of domains and payment details is essential. Localization into Indonesian is a must.
Thailand. A high-spending GEO with a high average deposit; players love baccarat, live casino and football. Only Thai-language creatives work. Expect stronger blocking during major tournaments.
Kazakhstan. The most convenient market for Russian-speaking teams: Russian-language creatives work here. Local betting is well developed, while casino demand is covered by foreign brands. Kaspi is the main payment method.
Uzbekistan. A new market: the first local licenses were issued only in summer 2026, and most demand still goes to foreign brands. Telegram is the key channel.

Takeaways
The loss of Brazil and India didn’t wipe out gambling in Tier-2 and Tier-3, it redistributed traffic. In Latin America, Mexico is the top candidate, while Peru and Colombia work well for tests on strong brands. In Asia, traffic is moving to Bangladesh and Pakistan, but FTDs there have become more expensive and infrastructure is less stable. The winners are those who check payment methods, adapt creatives to local sports and agree on terms in advance.
